Pre - K
Ages 4 – 5
Our Pre - K classes expand on the concepts children have been learning in Preschool, while providing new challenges in preparation for kindergarten and elementary school. Our curriculum is in line with the Early Learning and Development Standards established by the Ohio Department of Education.
This class continues to focus on social-emotional and self-care skills necessary for kindergarten readiness and expands to include focused work on letter and number recognition, early writing skills, fine and gross motor skills, cooperative work and play, and more. Instruction is direct and indirect, through circle time, story time, cooperative play, art exploration, outdoor/indoor play, center exploration, and special activities throughout the school year.
Students attend chapel monthly with our pastors and enjoy time to learn and sing together with their friends.

Our activities are designed to keep your child engaged, whether learning through music and games, creating original artwork, or collaborating with classmates to solve a problem, children are always learning.
Creative learning through making and moving
At Lewis Center Preschool, we embrace a child’s natural creativity by providing ample opportunity for children to create and explore. Our lessons are hands-on, which research demonstrates is how young children learn best. Children learn through art, music, circle time, games, stories, indoor/outdoor play time, and special activites throughout the year.
